Fluoride strengthens tooth enamel, helping to prevent cavities and reduce tooth sensitivity. The treatment is quick, painless, and applied directly to the teeth at the end of your appointment.

Who May Benefit from Fluoride Treatment?

Professional fluoride treatment may be recommended for:

  • Children who are struggling with brushing and have developing teeth

  • Patients with a history of frequent tooth decay
  • People experiencing tooth sensitivity
  • Patients with exposed tooth roots or gum recession
  • People with dry mouth
  • Patients wearing braces or other orthodontic appliances

Fluoride is no longer a “recommended for all”  treatment, as noted above there are certain circumstances where fluoride can be helpful. Like many growing up in Nelson, I too like to keep things as natural as possible and there are other alternatives that can be discussed further.
