Professional in-office teeth whitening offers a carefully supervised way to brighten your smile and reduce the appearance of stains and discolouration. Treatment can
be personalized according to your current tooth shade, whitening goals and sensitivity concerns.

Over time, teeth can become darker or stained from coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, certain foods and the natural aging process. Professional whitening products penetrate the enamel to lighten discolouration that regular brushing and dental polishing may not completely remove.

Is Teeth Whitening Right for You?

Teeth whitening may be suitable for adults with healthy teeth and gums who would like to improve the appearance of:

  • Yellowing or naturally darker teeth
  • Coffee, tea or red-wine stains
  • Tobacco-related discolouration
  • Staining that remains after professional cleaning
  • Gradual discolouration associated with aging

An oral-health assessment should be completed before whitening begins. Cavities, gum inflammation, exposed roots and other concerns may need to be addressed first.

What Results Can I Expect?

Results vary depending on the original shade of your teeth and the type of staining present. Natural teeth respond differently from person to person, so whitening results cannot be guaranteed to match a particular shade.

Crowns, veneers, bridges, and tooth-coloured fillings do not whiten. Existing restorations on your front teeth will be considered when discussing your treatment goals.

A cleaning, cavities, gum inflammation, exposed roots and other concerns may need to be addressed prior to having whitening done to obtain the best results. Please note that most dental insurances do not cover whitening as it is considered a cosmetic procedure, pre-determinations can be sent to your insurance prior to your appointment to see if there is any coverage available.
